Sony PS3 Slim Backwards Compatible?
I was just checking out the newly announced Sony Playstation PS3 slim console. Looks pretty slick since it's almost 40% smaller than the original units. Also features the usual wi fi and blu ray capabilities. Has a new firmware 3.0 and will cost just $300 each! Not a bad deal at that price. Looks the PS3 slim release date will be early September for US and they will be phasing out the original PS3 units. Good idea since this model is also quieter and uses even less energy consumption.
So it's got a sleek new look and those great features. I was trying to find out if the PS3 Slim was backwards compatible, meaning would it play the older PS2 video games. Unfortunately it looks like this unit won't be able to do that. So the answer as of right now is that the new ps3 is not backwards compatible, yet.. Maybe sometime in the future. No big deal though, since I enjoy the more updated games anyways!
So is Sony PS3 slim looks worth your money?
Are you planning to get the new PS3 slim system or sticking with the original?
